Silence is (not) Golden
Have we been lounging in the tranquil golden dew of easy days and well mixed cocktails, swinging lazily under a tropical palm? You may think that from our silence since New Year but we have in fact been extremely busy. We've incorporated, but together by-laws and actively looking for a space to hold more than a half dozen people. We're well on our way to hackerspacedom!
A shell wiki is available and about to bear the fruits of our legal endeavors and all this while we've been keeping apace with our day-to-day responsibilities. But, all of us here at Eugene Maker Space feel it's worth the investment. We know we have something great to share. You ready to join in?
Knowledge Is The Best Charity
The season of giving, sharing and all-round benevolence is upon us and opportunities to spread our love of knowledge & craftsmanship abound. We urge everyone who has been thinking of checking out their local makerspace [née hackerspace] to finally take that giant leap: look up it's address, knock on it's door and enter.
If you already have your own Joy Of Craft (1st, 2nd or more edition) why not do a little promotion for the space you enjoy so much? Slip in a reference at the water cooler about it. Pin a flier or card to the local coffee shop bulletin board, but stop at writing it's telephone number in the gas station cubicle: you're going way to far down enthusiasm road.
