We feel that Eugene deserves a makerspace [née hackerspaces]: Eugene Makerspace. A place where engineers & artists, draftsmen and dreamers can come together and bring their projects to life.
Shane (former biochemist, current computer programmer & immediate author) & Rick (shining star & veteran of HeatSync Labs) are laying the foundation to make this aspiration a reality. This site is one of it's milestones. An upcoming one is to reach out to the community, to people like you; interested in coming together to make something wonderful, and offering an invitation to join the adventure. Sit tight.
